Weekly Moves and Meals – 9/30/13 thru 10/5/13

I have had lots of starts and stops in terms of this journey. However, one thing has always been constant.  When I plan my meals and my workouts ahead of time, I am far more successful.  Now that the hubby has joined me on this journey, we are making an effort to use Sunday afternoons to plan our weekly meals and schedule our workouts.

Cooking in Our Kitchen This Week:

  • Crockpot Paleo Pork Tenderloin – This will make dinner for the hubs and I plus his parents on Monday, and leftovers will find their way into my lunchbox on Tuesday and Wednesday.
  • Crockpot Salsa Chicken – Nothing easier than this meal. Throw a few chicken breasts into the crockpot, top with salsa, and cook on low for 6 to 8 hours.  Once cooked shred for use in wraps or in our case to top salads for quick meals.
  • Turkey Burgers

Getting our “Sweat” On:

  • Monday: Crossfit
  • Tuesday: Crossfit
  • Wednesday: Active Rest Day (This means a family walk after dinner and maybe a game or two of chase before our daughter’s bathtime)
  • Thursday:Crossfit
  • Friday:  Run (Hubby and I are trying to get in 1 to 2 run days per week)
  • Saturday: Total Rest Day
  • Sunday: Run

Another Restart

I could sit here and type about all the things I have done wrong on my journey to my healthiest life.  I could offer excuses for why I have chosen to eat processed foods rather than real foods, why I chose to skip workouts, have another piece of cake, or stay up late rather than get my much needed 8 hours of sleep.  But I am tired of excuses.

I could tell you all that this time is going to be different. I could outline my plan – step by step, day by day – list my workouts, the meals, the goals.  But I am tired of writing words that I fail to back up with actions.

Instead, I am simply going to blog that I want to have the healthiest life that I can, and the only way that is going to happen is if I pursue it.  And when I have been most successful in pursuit of that life, is when I am here blogging about my journey and connecting with people. 

So I am here…
